The 2005 Inner City 100 Hall of Fame

Allegheny Childcare Academy, Pittsburgh, PA

Emerging from Chapter 11 under new leadership, Allegheny Childcare is now profitable and poised for new growth. The company first appeared on the 2000 list, but after struggling through a restructuring following bankruptcy, missed making only the 2004 list. 2005 finds them at close to $30 million in revenue.

Redbarn Pet Products, Long Beach, CA

First appearing in 2001 and making the Inner City 100 list every year since, Redbarn Pet Products, headed by Jeff Baikie and Howard Bloxam, has shown that there is a market for their premium pet products, ranging from pig's ears to "Roofles", dog waffles. The company has grown from just over $600,000 in sales in 1995, they are now at close to $14 million a year in sales.

Rego Realty, Hartford, CT

An immigrant from Peru, Jose Reategui has built a business rehabbing rundown residential properties in Hartford, CT and renting primarily to the local Latino population. Also first appearing on the list in 2001, Rego has grown to $5.5 million in revenue.
