Oregon Legislature Aids Small Business
I read with interest your September News & Trends article (page 22) on the legislative successes of small business. We are very pleased with the Oregon legislature's response to small business during its recent session.
We were able to get passed a workable "equal access to justice" law, a regulatory flexibility act, and landmark legislation to ease the burden of bad checks. Small business also scored successes in the areas of workers' compensation and unemployment compensation. Several of the issues considered here were recommendations of delegates to the Oregon Conference on Small Business.
