Due to an inadvertent error in transcription (6-month figures were transcribed as 12-month figures), Key Pharmaceuticals inc. of Miami, Fla., which ranked #51 on INC.'s 1983 list of the 100 fastest-growing public companies in America and #74 in 1982, was disqualified for the 1984 INC. 100 (May).Had Key been duly considered, its 1983 revenues of $127.3 million -- an 843% increase over its revenue figure for 1979 -- would have earned it a ranking on 1984's INC. 100.
Visual Technology Inc. of Tewksbury, Mass., with 1979 revenues of $735,000 and 1983 revenues of $47.3 million -- and a five-year growth rate of 6,339% -- also should have been on this year's list.
