Love Among The Ruins
Forgive the transition, but the subject of love brings to mind our March cover story, "Divorce." Having heard by now from just about every divorce lawyer in America, we can only speculate that splitting up the assets of divorce-torn companies is a hot new growth industry in its own right, and as competitive as any other: one lawyer actually threatened to sue INC. because she was not quoted in the story.
Other readers had different responses. Several accused us of disloyalty, alerting their spouses to rights of which they were evidently unaware. And one letter-writer sniffed that it was a shame to see INC. stoop to the tactics of Cosmopolitan magazine to attract readers. Our apologies to Helen Gurley Brown.
