Att's Champagne Tastes

I was fascinated, but not surprised, with your story on the Taj Mahal of New York, the AT&T building. Only an organization with the insensitivity AT&T has shown toward its customers, employees, and shareholders would have the nerve to build such a monument to its overinflated corporate ego.

I'm happy to say that they did not build it with my money, as I have sold all my stock in this dinosaur. I'm only sorry that I cannot go to a stockholder's meeting so I can ask embarrassing questions and see these so-called managers squirm while they try to explain why so many customers are taking their business elsewhere.

While AT&T was looking for pink marble, its competitors -- independent companies like mine -- were searching out and taking some of their largest customers and best employees. AT&T has a long way to go before it can even think of looking behind to see who is running after it. By that time, it may be too late.
