The Real Sculley?
On first examination, John Sculley appears to be the consummate chief executive officer (Face-to-Face, October 1987). What we see is a smug man, quite proud of his accomplishment, whose going public is the ultimate insult. Imagine firing a man who gave you a million dollars along with the excitement and challenge of Apple Computer Inc.
But everything Sculley got from Steve Jobs and Apple was not enough, and under the guise of enlightenment (ours) Sculley is getting what he really wants -- recognition.
