Koch's piece was the best damned business article I have ever read. And coming from an inveterate Harvard person, it's even better. The people I have most trouble dealing with in business are Ivy League grads, especially those from Harvard. They all seem to have read that old Esquire article entitled "The Natural Superiority of the Ivy League Man." It makes me sick -- and my own college experience includes Columbia and Harvard Business School.

The letters and calls just keep coming in about our March feature "Portrait of the CEO as Salesman," by microbrewer James Koch. Frankly, we're a bit taken aback by the response. Not that we doubted the article's timeliness, but we like to think all of our stories will ring bells out there in readerland. In fact, some do, and some don't, and we're never quite sure in advance which one will. So it's interesting to see that Koch's message struck such a resonant chord. Here's a sample of the mail:
