Flip Floppies

If nothing else, Barry KuKes is an equal-opportunity opportunist. When feminists condemned his first "swimsuit" floppy diskette, which featured a bikini-clad woman on the label, he promptly responded with a male "swimsuit" version. He also came out with puppy-dog diskettes, earmarking 25% of profits for an animal society, and plans future packages featuring everything from sports cars to whales. After five months, sales of Compu-Pak Inc. are up 100%, to an annual rate of $2 million, so KuKes isn't worrying if his packaging makes sense. "What does a girl in a swimsuit have to do with a floppy diskette?" he asks rhetorically. "We'll be the first to admit: absolutely noting."
