A painless trip to the dentist? That's what Sunrise Technologies Inc. is promising. The Sunnyvale, Calif., company has developed a laser "drill" that it says vaporizes decayed areas of a tooth without aggravating nerves. Still undergoing tests for FDA approval here, the system is being marketed in Canada and Europe by American Dental Laser, in Birmingham, Mich.
