Start-up offers free tests for cholesterol and blood pressure readings in malls.
By Leslie Brokaw | Jul 1, 1990
A California company is making a business as a marketing arm for hospitals. Testing 1-2-3, in Woodland Hills, runs permanent health-screening centers in malls, offering free tests for cholesterol and blood pressure readings; the public company makes its money from monthly fees of $15,000 to $22,000 paid by affiliated hospitals. Hospitals, in return, get referrals.
