Disability Diskette

Information on the Americans with Disabilities Act available on floppy disks.

NOVEMBER 1990

Confused about the Americans with Disabilities Act? You're not alone. The ADA regulation, enacted into law last summer, mandates major changes for countless U.S. businesses.

A group called International Resource Network on Disabilities has assembled everything you need to know about the ADA and put it on floppy disks. The information includes the actual bill and the congressional conference report, along with some practical tips on compliance with the act.

The disks run on IBM and Apple PCs and their compatibles. Send $5 for IBM disks or $6 for Apple disks to IRND, ADA Dept., 2232 S.W. 15th St., Fort Lauderdale FL 33312. Specify if you want the three-and-a-half-inch or the five-and-a-quarter-inch version. Or call the group at (305) 583-0645.

Two Washington, D.C., sources of more information: the President's Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities (1111 20th St. N.W., Washington DC 20036, 202-653-5044) offers a free information packet, and the Small Business Legislative Council has a compliance guide for $14.25, plus $1.50 postage and handling. (Orders for more than 25 copies will receive a discount.) To order, write the council, including your payment, at 1156 15th St. N.W., Suite 510, Washington DC 20005, or call (202) 639-8500.
