In addition to being your own boss and setting your own hours, one of the advantages of starting a company is that you get to choose your own title. But why stop at calling yourself a mere president or CEO? Consider the handles of the following entrepreneurs:

Tim Faragher, CPU -- as in central processing unit -- (formerly director) of two-year old Macintosh illustration and design studio Faragher Design, in Charlotte, N.C.

Chris James, chief margin defender (formerly chief financial officer) of nearly five-year-old James Integrated Technologies (JIT), a software concern in St. Paul, Minn.
