Audio/Visual: Bluetooth Speakers by Philippe Starck
Courtesy Parrot
Designer Philippe Starck has applied his talents to toothbrushes, lemon juicers, and the house of former French President François Mitterrand. Now, he's taking on speakers. The 30-inch-tall speakers, which he designed for Paris-based electronics company Parrot, will be on the market in April. They are wireless, and thanks to Bluetooth, they can be placed up to 30 feet apart. One has an iPhone/iPod dock that doubles as a charger. And a Wi-Fi connection embedded in the speakers allows you to stream music directly from your computer (at least, from your Windows computer; the Wi-Fi connection won't work with Macs just yet).
Cost: $1,500 for a pair
