Inc.com Named EPpy Award Finalist

The awards, sponsored by Editor & Publisher and MediaWeek, recognize the media's best Internet sites.

Inc.com has been named a finalist for the 2007 EPpy Awards, the annual competition sponsored by Editor & Publisher and MediaWeek for the best media-affiliated Internet services.

Inc.com is one of three finalists in the category of Best National Magazine-Affiliated Website, which also includes Newsweek.com and FastCompany.com, Inc.com's sister website. 

"This nomination is a nice indication that editorial excellence has been a strong component of our rapid growth in audience and revenue over the past couple of years," said Edward Sussman, president of Mansueto Digital, which publishes both Inc.com and FastCompany.com. 

"I'm particularly pleased that FastCompany.com, which has been a leader for years in the blogging and social-media space has been recognized as well," Sussman added.

In total, 108 finalists were chosen this year from more than 450 entries submitted. The EPpy Awards, now in their 12th year, honor the best websites in the media world including those affiliated with newspapers, television networks, and magazines. Washingtonpost.com received the most finalist nods this year -- five -- for large Web sites (more than 1 million monthly visitors).

Two new categories were added to the EPpy Awards  this year: The Knight News Award for Innovation and the first EPpy Award for a Spanish-language media-affiliated website. MarketWatch.com, The Detroit News Auto Insider, and The Wall Street Journal Online were named finalists in the category of Best Business Web Site with more than 1 million unique monthly visitors.

The winners of the EPpy Awards will be announced May 24 at the Interactive Newspaper Conference and Trade Show in Miami.
