Aetna Offers Low-Cost Healthcare Plans
Aetna (NYSE:AET) has announced a new plan to provide affordable health benefits to small-business employees that live or work in New York City. The NYC Community Plan will use local physicians, as well as sales and service teams that know the health care needs and preferences of New Yorkers.
The new plan is made affordable by using a smaller network of providers. Recognizing the cultural diversity of New York, Aetna will provide cultural competency training for its multilingual staff and the physicians working in the community. When they receive care through the NYC Community Plan Referred Network, customers will have access to preventive care at 100 percent, with no co-pays, at a significantly reduced premium.
Employees who receive covered medical services from a primary care physician who participates in the NYC Community Plan Referred Network will be eligible for referred benefits. Those who access providers in the NYC Community Plan Self-Referred Network will be charged for an annual deductible and coinsurance, and subject to a lifetime benefits maximum.
