Avaya Upgrades IP Tools for SMBs
Avaya (NYSE:AV) has upgraded its IP Office portfolio of telephony, messaging, networking, conferencing and customer management solutions for small and midsize businesses with the addition of a new user-friendly telecommuter application and VPN software.
The telecommuter feature sends calls over the public switched telephone network to and from a remote phone, such as a mobile or landline phone, instead of over the Internet. Users can transfer calls from their laptop or PC, and access typical call features such as speed dial and call history log. VPN offers full-time remote employees the same secure access as onsite staff using an Avaya IP-enabled phone.
Avaya has also improved maintenance capabilities within the System Status Application, enabling technicians to play back previously recorded call logs without interrupting other IP Office functions to resolve problems more quickly.
