Cognos Upgrades Its BI Solution

New features include express authoring mode for streamlined reporting.

 

Cognos (NASDAQ:COGN) has unveiled enhancements to its flagship business intelligence (BI) solution. Cognos 8 BI v3 features improved BI user capabilities and advances in its SOA-based platform designed to provide companies with more targeted performance information across a broader range of decision makers, with extended modeling and administration functionalities to simplify deployment and maintenance.

Cognos 8 BI v3 is designed for mid-market and larger businesses. New features include express authoring mode for streamlined reporting, business-driven modeling with new transformer capabilities for enhanced management of performance information perspectives, scorecard portlets for better visibility into company strategy, briefing books to help administrators address special requests from senior management, and self-service personal alerts.
