IGG Upgrades Financial Management Application
IBank 3 Public Beta includes a Web-based tool for entering transactions with an iPhone.
Putney, Vermont-based IGG Software has released a trial version of its popular financial management application for Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) Mac OS X Leopard. IBank 3 Public Beta includes iBank for iPhone, a Web-based iPhone application that allows users to enter transactions on their iPhones, and have them automatically added to the desktop application via Mac.
The new version features a new Core Animation-powered interface that allows users to easily "flip" through their transactions, which are represented with category images. New interactive graphs come together as the user creates transactions, and double-clicking a pie slice flips it over to reveal detailed information.
In addition, users can now download transactions directly from a number of different banks using OFX. Leopard's Image Kit allows users to take pictures of receipts or other items and assign them to transactions, for better spending visualization. Smart portfolios help users manage investments, and a new loan management module tracks all loans. IGG plans to release the final version of iBank 3 later this month.
