Tech Data To Distribute VMware

The deal includes VMware's entire suite of virtualization products.

 

The Advanced Infrastructure Solutions (AIS) division of Tech Data (NASDAQ:TECD)  has signed a distribution agreement with VMware (NYSE:VMW)  to resell its entire suite of virtualization products.

Tech Data provides its network of value-added resellers (VARs ) with access to a broad range of solutions backed by trained sales and technical support – in this case, in the form of certified VMware Sales Professionals (VSPs) and VMware Certified Professionals (VCPs). The company plans to double the existing 200 VSPs and VCPs in the coming months.

"Tech Data is clearly committed to supporting VMware and our VARs," Steve Houck, vice president of worldwide channels at VMware, said in a statement. "VARs that are well trained on our products and solutions and armed with the right sales and marketing tools are critical to providing their customers with VMware virtualization. Our relationship with Tech Data will enable us to engage, recruit and train top VARs throughout North America."
