Capital One Unveils Online Marketplace

The site offers a venue for small-business owners to share ideas, seek advice and generate leads.

 

Capital One Financial (NYSE:COF) has sponsored the launch of Slingshot, a new online marketplace designed to connect and promote the local small business community of Raleigh, N.C. The new site will act as a venue for small business owners to share ideas, seek advice, generate leads, and grow their businesses.

Slingshot members create and manage free online business profiles, in addition to being featured in a searchable directory that includes most Raleigh-area small businesses.

"Slingshot is designed to create advocacy, awareness and energy in the marketplace to support small businesses. This online marketplace helps locally-owned businesses share information, find partners and attract customers," David Wasik, senior vice president of Capital One Small Business, said in a statement. "We created Slingshot because we believe in the power of small business owners and their importance to the community. Slingshot will help propel small businesses by connecting them to their peers and by making it easy for consumers to buy local."
