Young Entrepreneurs Gather in D.C
National Entrepreneurship Week starts this weekend and aims to encourage young business owners.
National Entrepreneurship Week, which kicks off this weekend with events across the country, aims to promote entrepreneurial education and encourage young Americans to start their own businesses, organizers say.
Marking its second year, the seven-day event includes workshops, seminars and business plan contests held by designated State Leadership Teams at schools and universities nationwide.
The official launch takes place in Washington, D.C on Monday with a reception attended by business leaders, lawmakers and other small-business advocates. The Small Business Administration will also present awards for outstanding entrepreneurial achievement.
"In order for others to continue to take risks by trying their luck at a new business, it's important that we applaud entrepreneurs for their achievements and encourage America's youth to pursue their own entrepreneurial endeavors," Todd Stottlemyer, president and CEO of the National Federation of Independent Business, said in a statement.
