Iomega Releases Latest REV Backup Drive

The REV 120GB is designed for small businesses and remote work groups.

Iomega (NYSE:IOM) has introduced its new REV 120GB Backup Drive, designed and priced for small and midsize businesses and remote work groups.

The REV 120GB Backup Drive is available as both an external USB 2.0 model, and internal SATA interface model. It comes equipped with one REV 120GB disk and EMC's (NYSE:EMC) Retrospect Express software for automatic backup and disaster recovery. Iomega also offers REV 120GB Server Kit models that include the drive and five disks, along with CA's (NYSE:CA) BrightStor ArcServe Backup software with disaster recovery.

"The launch of the REV 120GB Backup Drive is a new benchmark in cost-effective data protection for SMBs," Tom Kampfer, president and chief operating office at Iomega, said in a statement. "The REV 120GB drive delivers more native capacity, near instantaneous random access to files, faster backups and restores, and the portability of ruggedized removable cartridges — all at a better value than entry-level tape products and with a higher comfort level of data protection than standard desktop hard drives."
