Verizon Launches Hosted E-mail Services
The service enables businesses to synchronize e-mail, calendars and other tasks.
Verizon Wireless (NYSE:VZ) has introduced a new hosted e-mail service designed for small and midsize businesses and mobile professionals. Hosted VZEmail Services provides customers with a managed e-mail solution starting at $7.99 per month.
Powered by Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) Exchange Server, the new service enables businesses to synchronize e-mail messages, calendars, contacts and tasks automatically to a wireless device. It also includes Verizon Wireless technical support. The Basic Exchange Plan supports both POP3 and IMAP e-mail protocols, and includes 25 megabytes of storage and Outlook Web Access. The Premium Exchange Plan has 100 megabytes of storage.
"Our research has shown that small businesses, entrepreneurs and professionals from an array of industries need e-mail pushed directly to their handsets so they can be responsive to their customers while out of the office," Robert Miller, vice president of marketing from Verizon Wireless, said in a statement. "Hosted VZEmail Services are professional e-mail solutions that give customers options to suit their specific needs at an affordable price."
