NetApp Supports VMWare Site Recovery Tool
The joint solution offers a cost-effective disaster recovery system.
NetApp (NASDAQ:NTAP) has announced that it now supports VMware Site Recovery Manager, a new disaster recovery management and automation product. The joint solution offers a cost-effective disaster recovery system built with VMware Site Recovery Manager, VMware Infrastructure, and NetApp FAS storage systems.
The two companies have also enabled easier, more frequent disaster recovery tests by creating instant virtual machine and data set clones. Customers can receive enhanced application protection for virtualized applications by integrating NetApp SnapMirror and FlexClone. Other NetApp data recovery solutions, such as Protection Manager, and the upcoming SnapManager for Virtualized Infrastructure, provide additional options.
"NetApp's support for VMware Site Recovery Manager will allow our joint customers to overcome the challenges that previously made rapid and reliable disaster recovery difficult or sometimes even impossible," Parag Patel, vice president of Alliances at VMware, said in a statement.
