Bad Rules Sought for Review
The SBA advocacy office is seeking bids for a list of faulty small-business regulations.
The U.S. Small Business Administration’s Office of Advocacy is seeking nominations for federal regulations that small-business owners want changed or scrapped.
The top 10 rules identified by owners, trade associations, and others will be sent directly to the relevant federal agencies for review.
Last year's list, which was announced in February, was drawn from more than 80 nominations. The initiative is designed to help small-business owners work with federal agencies to fix rules that are either outdated or ineffective as a result of shifting markets, technology, and competition.
"Only with regular evaluation can agencies sift through the enormous number of current regulations to find those that are outdated and ineffective due to rapidly changing conditions," Thomas Sullivan, the agency's chief counsel, said in a statement.
