Tech CEOs Push Green Energy

 

Nov. 16, 2006 -- A group of CEOs from the nation's top technology firms on Wednesday called for a greater national commitment to alternative and renewable energy technologies.

The Green Technologies Initiative, a new advocacy program launched yesterday at the group's annual innovation summit held in Palo Alto, Calif., will provide a "roadmap for government and industry to put these technologies to use in solving our serious environmental and energy challenges," TechNet founder John Doerr, a partner at Silicon Valley venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers, said in a statement.
