California Leads Nation in Women-Owned Firms
Dec. 8, 2006 -- California is the top state for majority women-owned firms, according to a new study by the Center for Women's Business Research.
Other top-ranking states in the study, which tracked sales and employees at businesses owned by women, among other criteria, included New York, Texas, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Michigan, and Georgia.
The study also found that Florida has the fastest growth rate for majority women-owned firms, followed by Arizona and Hawaii.
