Homebuilder Confidence Dips
Dec. 18, 2006 -- The mood of the nation's homebuilders remained low in December, while their outlook for the next six months is picking up, the National Association of Home Builders reported on Monday.
The group's monthly housing market index dropped a single point from November to 32 on the month after dropping to 30 in September, the report said.
Despite the downturn, builders "sense that the tide is turning in term of buyer demand for their product and are feeling somewhat better about the prospects for home sales," David Seiders, the group's chief economist, said in a statement.
