Michael J. Fox to Speak at Biotech Confab

 

March 2, 2007 -- The Biotechnology Industry Organization, a non-profit association representing more than 1,100 biotechnology companies, announced Friday that actor Michael J. Fox will be the keynote speaker at the BIO International Convention in Boston in May.

The annual four-day event, which attracts up to 20,000 participants every year, showcases innovation in biotechnology and helps foster development and growth in the industry, organizers said.

Fox, who has Parkinson's, will speak at a May 7 luncheon as an advocate the use of stem-cell research to find a cure for the disease.
