Compatible Customer Data in Different Languages

 

March 5, 2007 -- Omikron, an address-management software company based in Pforzheim, Germany, has registered a patent for new technology that makes it possible to merge customer data from various alphabets and writing systems, including Arabic, Cyrillic, and Japanese, the company announced Monday.

The software enables users to merge diversely entered data to create standardized customer and address databases by analyzing the characteristics of each individual language and writing system to identify typos or variations in word order, the company said. By doing so, the application could help businesses with global operations from keeping incorrect or incomplete customer records, the company said.
