March 20, 2007 -- HopStop.com, a website that provides big city dwellers with travel directions on local public transportation systems, has launched a beta version of a location-based local advertising platform, the company said Monday.
The new advertising platform, which is available in New York, Boston, Washington, Chicago, and San Francisco, allows local businesses to place ads or coupons on HopStop.com whenever a potential customer inquires about travel routes near their locations, rival business locations, or any street address frequented by target customers, the company said.
Business owners can select any street address and area they wish to target, and create their own ads using customizable templates, the company said.
