New Online Payment Application Package
April 2, 2007 -- PayPal, a subsidiary of online auction site eBay, has launched a new application package aimed at boosting the security and cost effectiveness of online payments for small and midsize businesses, the company said Monday.
Among other features, Website Payments Pro includes Express Checkout, Direct Payment API, and Virtual Terminal functions, which will enable online shoppers to choose how they pay for purchases, the company said. At the same time, Virtual Terminal allows businesses to accept orders offline by phone, fax, or mail, while directing payment processing to PayPal, the company said.
Businesses can also add their own branding during the checkout process, while directing buyers back to their websites after transactions are completed, the company said.
