Small Businesses Driving Biofuel Industry
May 4, 2007 -- Small businesses make up more than 70 percent of the renewable fuel industry and are driving economic growth in many parts of rural America, industry experts told a congressional hearing this week.
The hearing, held by the House Small Business Committee to examine the role of small business in the emerging biofuel market, heard from a cross section of officials in the renewable fuels industry who stressed the need to assist smaller firms with technological innovation, research, and development.

This week's hearing was the first in a series that will address small business participation in the energy industry.
