Seminar on Winning Research Grants
The West Virginia Small Business Development Center will host a pair of seminars next month aimed at helping small-business owners win federal government research grants, organizers said this week.
The first seminar, which is set for July 12, will focus on the process of applying for Phase 1 and Phase II grants by showing participants how to create winning proposals for NASA, Homeland Security, and other federal agencies. The following day, a second seminar will show grant winners how to maximize the value of their awards through strategic business planning, project management, and tips for converting Phase I grants into sole-source contracts.
The federal government is expected to award $1 billion to small technology firms for innovation research and development projects this year.
Both events will take place at the West Virginia University Alumni Center in Morgantown, W.Va. Business owners can register online at http://sbir.us.
