Voting Opens in Small-Business Makeover Contest
Batavia, Ill., and Washington, D.C. were among the 10 finalists in a neighborhood small-business makeover contest sponsored by IKEA, organizers said this week.
"Small Business, Big Dreams" invited small business owners from around the country to submit three-minute videos of up to 10 businesses in their neighborhoods outlining the impact they have on their community. IKEA chose 10 videos that represented the most unique businesses. Voting is now open to the public to pick a winner.
The winning entry will receive a $50,000 makeover for small businesses in the community and a $5,000 cash prize.
The voting period ends Aug. 22. To view the entries, visit www.ikea.com/business/mainstreet.
