Online Job Ads Keep Rising
The number of jobs posted online rose by 4 percent in September to 4.27 million, an increase of 17.5 percent over the same period last year, the Conference Board reported Monday.
The increases in online job ads were spread out of across all regions, except in New England, where the number of ads declined for the second straight month, according to the New York-based private research firm. Health care, high-tech, management continued to lead other job vacancies posted online.
"The growth rate in the number of online ads has moderated in recent months from what we were seeing in early 2007 and some of the growth is reflective of the continued shift to online job advertising," Gad Levanon, a Conference Board economist, said in a statement.
