Although Silicon Valley firms are currently facing an unusually tough employee recruitment scene, they are much more accustomed to battling turnover and low skill supplies, according to Transitions Management Group/OI, an outplacement firm in California.
These high-tech companies are using a number of " out-of-the-box" solutions, including:
- Recruiting from booths at wine-tasting festivals.
- Participating in computer news groups and chat lines on the Internet.
- Sponsoring radio advertisements on programs frequented by engineers during drive time.
