Meet Stephen King

Stephen King, CPA, is president, CEO and founder of Virtual Growth, a New York City-based firm that provides outsourced bookkeeping and accounting services to fast-growing small- to medium-sized businesses. He has more than 20 years of experience in accounting, information systems design and management consulting. King began his career at Ernst & Young, where he was a manager in the Accounting Systems Design Group. Through that experience, he developed expertise in designing accounting systems for growing companies.

King also served as CFO and director of development for Amnesty International USA, the well-known human rights organization. In that role, he designed the accounting and operating systems and created a technology infrastructure, allowing board members and volunteers to access Amnesty International's information from around the world.

Before launching Virtual Growth, King founded his own CPA firm. In six months, he grew his sole-practitioner CPA firm to four employees. Coupling his accounting and systems design knowledge with his experience working with rapidly growing businesses, King has grown Virtual Growth from four employees to 90 during a four-year period. He is responsible for managing all aspects of the company's strategic direction.

King holds a B.B.A. from Pace University and is a member of several organizations, including the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA), American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), Pace University Lubin Alumni Board of Directors, and New York City's Industrial Technology Assistance Corporation (ITAC) Advisory Board.
