What should I keep in mind when creating my first ad?
Marketing & Advertising mentor Lisa H. Buksbaum responds to the following question from an inc.com user:
I have a young business and I am going to advertise for the first time in a publication targeted to my market. What should I keep in mind when creating and placing the ad?
Lisa H. Buksbaum's response:
You only have one chance to make a great first impression. When creating a brand personality and advertisement, it is important to focus on what really separates your company from the competition.
Often people make the mistake of trying to be all things to all people and end up cluttering the advertising with too much information. Clean and simple design conveys leadership and quality. A strong and compelling headline draws people into the ad. In addition, try to make it easy for customers and prospects to get more information by directing them to a special area on your Web site or an 800 number.
