00:09 Barbara Corcoran: One last thing, which I don't have in my notes, but I did want to share with you, women being women. One great gift my mother gave myself, my brothers, my sisters for life, as poor as we were, we were kids. She would send us out to get prizes. She'd read in the little paper, late at night that there was going to be a Good Citizen's Award in the next town or something, and she would dress us up and send us out to get the prize. We hated my mother for that because we weren't prepared. What do you talk about? What do you say? I feel uncomfortable. I don't know these people. And you know why she did it? She would always say, "You know, you have the right to be there. I don't care if you get the prize, but you go out and you ask for it. You go and ask for it. You go and ask for it."

00:47 Corcoran: Do you know when Donald Trump, I finally hustled my ass in to see him, because I published a report ranking him as number seven versus number one when he was touting that he was the number one address in the world, and I found that he was full of crap, he wasn't. And when I was going up in his elevator to meet him, I was shaking at the knees. I'm a young broker and that big bully with his high chair made me sit in a low chair and all that baloney that they do, right? But here's the thing. I was in the elevator and I've done it my whole life in so many situations that I was frightened and I didn't know how I was going to find my way to what I was leaping off the cliff for. You know what I found?

01:20 Corcoran: I found if I could get the courage up, and just said to myself again and again, which I always do, I have the right to be here. I have the right to claim success for what I want. I have the right to be somebody, and I would tell myself that again and again and again and it got me at least to the cliff to jump off. Didn't give me the solution on how I was gonna fly down. But you know what I found? I found that charge in entrepreneurship is to get the courage to jump off the cliff without logic because if you jump off the cliff and put yourself in that position, you know what? You do find the answer on the way down and yet I think our whole education system and the whole logical ADBD reasoning or whatever it is... Thank god for me I never learned crap in school.

02:01 Corcoran: Alright? I think the whole thing is just like, "Well, I don't know how I'm gonna do it, but let's jump and see what happens," like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. And you want to know? If you could just get yourself to do that and feel like you have the right to the success for taking that chance, I'm gonna tell you, I find that entrepreneurs again and again get what they want if they're not trying to find the logic of why they should do it. Does that make sense? Alright.

02:26 Corcoran: Alright. I guess that's my ending point. Thanks for listening.
