Best Rugged Laptop: Panasonic Toughbook 31
Looking for a laptop that can withstand getting jostled around in luggage? We recently put four so-called rugged laptops from Dell, Panasonic, HP, and Lenovo through the paces, subjecting them to spills and tosses; we even drove over tow of them with a 700-pound ATV. The winner? Panasonic's new 8.2-pound magnesium alloy Toughbook 31, which barely winced during our ATV rollover test and survived being thrown into a pile of mud and ice. The Toughbook has a 13.1-inch screen and a phenomenal 10 hours of battery life.
