Best Green Hotel: Bardessono Hotel

This Napa Valley hotel puts a premium on being green while still offering luxury amenities. With 62 rooms nestled in the lush hills of Yountville, California, Hotel Bardessono lists a bevy of green practices. It serves local, farm-fresh food (some from its own on-site producing garden), features 940 solar panels on the roof, and boasts geothermal heating and cooling systems. It's been LEED certified and also partners with the Land Trust of Napa County, which means part of your payment is donated to preserving and protecting 50,000 acres of Napa Valley land. In addition, rooms come with luxuries like an in-room spa, organic linens, flat screen TVs, and plenty of square footage.

COST: Rooms start at about $800 per night.
