Mike Hofman joined Inc. Magazine, in 1996. At Inc., he edits articles on a variety of topics, from the economics of immigration to religion in the workplace. He has written more than 20 feature stories and frequently represents Inc. in the media, commenting on published articles and business news. In 2006, Hofman was part of a team of writers nominated for the prestigious Webby Award for best business blog. From 2002 through 2004, Hofman was named one of the 30 most influential financial journalists under the age of 30 by TJFR, an industry trade publication. In 2004, he was also awarded the first-ever Publisher's Award for outstanding contribution to Inc. magazine.

David worked for over twenty years in corporate finance, operations and mergers and acquisitions with firms such as International Paper Company; The First Boston Corporation; Hutchison SA (multi-billion $ French subsidiary of the Total Energy Group) and Transcend Services, Inc. He has also started several companies as well as served as CFO, COO and CEO for both privately held and publicly traded firms in the manufacturing, health care services and technology sectors.
David has served on both corporate and non-profit boards and is very active in the Social Venture Business Plan Competition at the University of Notre Dame as well as with several other Social Enterprise Associations. David serves on the Board of Directors for the Ferst Foundation for Childhood Literacy and Indaba Systems, LLC and is also an Advisory Board Member for Books For Africa, The Prison Book Program, and Globe Funder.
