What it does: Sells arcade games, pinball machines, air hockey tables, jukeboxes, photo booths, and similar amusements to businesses and homeowners.

Why it's growing: It's nostalgia. It's families with large homes and disposable cash (many items are north of $5,000). And it's the desire of bar owners to own machines so they don't need to split revenue with local operators, long the standard business model.

What's noteworthy: CEO David Young says the industry is fragmented and filled with breaking-even mom-and-pops, so it's ripe for consolidation. BMI Gaming plans to begin a roll-up in late 2007. Young was a bachelor with a "hole to fill," so he bought a Funhouse pinball machine, which led to a collection of 15 machines. When he got a healthy offer for a Twilight Zone machine, he was on his way to becoming a pinball wizard.
