Carchex's Business Model:
Carchex inspects used vehicles anywhere in the country for potential buyers who are too far from the seller to do it themselves. Current CEO Jason Goldsmith bought the company after being impressed with its pre-purchase inspection of a Jaguar he was interested in, and has expanded the company's services to include extended warranties and warranty shopping and comparison tools. Pat Goss of the long-running PBS series MotorWeek has just joined the company as its resident master technician and spokesperson.
