Looks like Quora made a new friend.
The Q&A platform is the latest addition to search giant Bing’s relatively new social sidebar, which displays data from social networks including Facebook, Foursquare, Twitter and Linkedin.
On its company blog, Quora stated the integration is a dual effort to help users “evolve their social search experience and offer more distribution to Quora writers.”
Bing users reportedly will now see top Quora contributors related to search topics in the “People Who You Know” section. After browsing the contributors' shared answers, users can directly click through to Quora.
The move could indicate that Quora wants to shift from a niche service to a more mainstream one with a broader audience, according to TechCrunch. For Bing, the partnership marks an “ongoing commitment to work with industry partners to make the social experience compelling and useful for customers," a Microsoft rep told the outlet.
Earlier in August, Quora introduced a few feature called Embeddable Quotes, enabling blogs and sites to seamlessly embed Quora content. Quora co-founder Adam D’Angelo told TechCrunch: “I think that as it grows bigger, more and more people will use it to tell their stories.”
