U.S small business owners are just a bit more negative when it comes to their outlook this year. Twenty-eight percent said they're less optimistic about their business' future than they were last year, while 23 percent said they are are more optimistic, according to the most recent Wells Fargo/Gallup Small Business Index. However, when asked how they'd rate their business' financial situation, 20 percent responded "very good" -- the highest percentage to respond that way in five years.

Below, the graphic from statistics company Statista takes a look at the way small business owners have felt about their financial situation for the past nine years.
