- How did you build your lemonade stand? (Don't forget to let us know what materials you used and how you came up with the idea!)
My Dad built my lemonade stand but I designed it. I love Hawaiian style so I told him to make it with bamboo, grass skirts and wood that I sanded to make it smooth.
- What does your lemonade stand look like? (Describe what it looks like and why you designed it the way you did, talking about the size of your stand and any extra special signs you created to promote it!)
My lemonade stand looks like a mini Tiki bar. It is tall and about 3 feet wide. It has a shelf on the bottom to put my money box and extra supplies. The roof is covered with bamboo roofing. I screwed a dry erase board on the roof that tells what I'm selling and how much my product cost. I always have a tip jar out and there are also little bamboo lights hanging from the roof. To look tropical, I set my lemonade stand on a big piece of fake grass and palm trees in pots on both sides.
- How did you choose the lemonade recipe and how did you make your lemonade?
I love pink lemonade so I chose pink powdered Country Time Lemonade. I put water in a big 5 gallon water container and then pour the powder in and stir. When I'm done stirring, my mom helps me pour the lemonade into a big container with a pour spout. I sold my lemonade for .50 and I also sold bottled water for the same price.
- How much money did you make this weekend?
I've been doing my lemonade stand one weekend a year for 3 years. Last year (2005) I made $350! I make so much money and I do it on a specific weekend because on that weekend is the US Open of Surfing held in Huntington Beach every summer. There are about 2,000 people walking past my house on the way to the beach and they buy my lemonade. I will be selling my lemonade this weekend again during the US Open on July 30, 2006!

This is a gorgeous stand. You are dedicated! Keep it up.
Best story I've read! Keep up the great work!
Very nice stand. You made some really good money!
We liked the way the stand was made and how it looked - very Hawaiian - and really catches your eye
That was so cute, and it drew attention to people!
To me it sounds like your father did most of the work, but the story was good.
Go Hunter Go!!!!!
I lik ethe theme. It makes me feel like I am on a tropical island.
cool theme
Definitely good planning for timing of event. Like the decorations of lights, potted plants. How many jugs of lemonade does it take to make $350 on one weekend at .50 a glass?
Great job, Danielle. You are making me homesick for Huntington...
What a creative little entrepreneur!
you made alot of money great job!!!!!!!!!!!! KEEP IT UP!!!!****
Great lemonade stand, Danielle. You should win.
I like that you also had water as an option to buy...I am no lover of lemonade, but I am a lover of lemonade stands...I always stop to support a lemonade stand. So, I greatly appreciate the opportunity to purchase water!
Danielle, your Tiki idea was very creative! You are so blessed to have a Dad who would work so hard to build your stand for you with your ideas. That was a good idea selling water at your stand too, and setting up during a surfing event is a super idea--all those thirsty surfers and spectators waling by your house! I'm curious about what you plan to do with the money you earned. Finding a charity to donate part of it to, and coming up with your own recipe might boost sales even further. Keep up the good work!
Great booth!
Danille, that is a great lemonade stand that was created by you & your dad. Keep up the great work and enjoy the money you earn.
Love it!!!
I love the theme, but it did require help from your father. I liked best that you really thought ahead about the marketing of it during a time that would really produce a good income for yourself. I did have to wonder about the price of the supplies, like the cups, the lemonade, and all if 50 cents a cup could produce a high enough profit margin.
I loved the tiki style of the stand! This one should win.
It is a nice story and the girl is very inventive.
Hi Danielle!! Here is your cousin from Holland. It looks awesome! Hope you'll win!!!!!!!
Danielle put a lot of thought into designing her lemonade stand. Keep up the good work!!!!
