On April 8, 2010, CNBC's Maria Bartiromo will be coming to Inc. Magazine's New York headquarters to speak about success and the economy. Presented by Harvard Business School's Club of New York and sponsored by Inc. Magazine's Business Owners Council: Greater New York chapter, Ms. Bartiromo will be interviewed by Lewis Schiff, executive director of The Council.

Ms. Bartiromo's new book, "The 10 Laws of Enduring Success," describes her own personal success lessons learned over the past 20 years in the rough and tumble world of business news. From her humble roots in Brooklyn, she has risen to become one of the highest profile women in the business.

Upon reading her book, I was struck by how tough her success lessons are. Not everyone will be able to achieve success based on these ideals--in fact most won't. That's what's so refreshing not only about the book but about the author. Ms. Bartiromo is a study in diligence, commitment and sacrifice. Her lessons and her own personal story clearly lays out a benchmark others will have to acknowledge if they want to achieve their own success.
