Tap Space Technology
Many new products and developments with promising commercial applications have grown out of space research. Over 3,400 National Aeronautics and Space Administration inventions are currently available for licensing in the United States.
NASA's Technology Utilization Program, established in 1962, is designed to help transfer aerospace technology to nonaerospace applications. The quarterly magazine Tech Briefs, available free of charge to U.S. business managers and engineers who request it on company letterhead, describes new products and industrial processes, shop and lab techniques, and new sources of technical data.
NASA also runs eight Industrial Applications Centers to assist business executives in applying space technology to their problems. And a library of approximately 1,600 computer programs developed for NASA and other government agencies is available from the Computer Software Management and Information Center in Athens, Ga.
